As a provider, Emma's mission is to work with patients to empower them to meet their health goals. She believes in establishing strong patient-provider relationships to ensure her patients feel valued and heard. Emma enjoys treating diabetes, obesity, and other chronic conditions, emphasizing nutrition and a healthy lifestyle. She is also interested in LGBTQ+ medicine, PrEP/HIV prevention, medication for the treatment of opioid use disorder, and more.
Emma shares that one of the most significant rewards of her job is when her patient's most challenging healthcare goals are achieved. She believes her patients' goals can be made possible through high-quality, compassionate care paired with the patient's participation.
Through previous clinical experience, Emma saw firsthand how language barriers keep people from receiving quality care and health education. Her experience influenced her to pursue and complete a Hispanic Health Track Certification through Idaho State University. Emma studied medical Spanish through this course and practiced speaking it during her Terry Reilly clinical rotations. Emma has a heart for the patient populations in our service areas and understands the importance of providing care for people in their native language.
Outside of work, Emma enjoys staying active, spending time outdoors with her family and friends, and running, skiing, and mountain biking.
