Pennie works with individuals, couples, families, and small groups, supporting people ages 13 to 95 as they navigate trauma, self‑doubt, depression, anxiety, and loss. Many of the clients she sees feel “different,” marginalized, or misunderstood. She also works with deaf clients, CODAs, people with physical challenges, caretakers, and those who identify as straight, lesbian, gay, transgender, or questioning.
With more than 30 years of experience as a camp administrative director for people with disabilities, a houseparent for teens, a school counselor, and a private‑practice clinician. Pennie has had the privilege of getting to know people whose life experiences have made them feel vulnerable. She shares, “It’s been fun seeing them become strong.”
Pennie believes each person’s uniqueness matters more than any technique or diagnosis. Her goal is to help clients develop insight and skills so they can “enjoy life more.”
She is also proficient in American Sign Language (ASL), Signing Exact English (SEE), and Pidgin Sign Language.
